Answers to the commonly asked questions

We are a women owned, family operated coffee shop with a few “like family” staff members. The idea of offering an inviting and safe space for the community, local artists and musicians to share the love of music was the idea behind creating this space.
How long have you been open?
Since January 23rd, 2026, but we began the LLC in 2024
What do you serve?
We offer espresso and matcha from the Mill, Chai from North Fork Chai Co. and Pastries from Pastry Heaven. We have a small cafe menu consisting of deli meat sandwiches and a few small bites. We also offer a few beers on draft and a small selection of wines.
Why Citrus Heights?
Because Citrus Heights is our home and holds a special place in our hearts, especially this little hole in the wall location.
Do you have a stove, an oven, a freezer, microwaves?
No. We are not a restaurant. We have a panini grill, a small Merry Chef, a fridge and a small sandwich station. We have very limited space, but we have high quality and fresh ingredients.

Do you take reservations?
No. But we always encourage communal seating.

Can I host a special event at the cafe?
Of Course! email us and we can discuss further.
If I am a musician and I want to perform there, can I book a date?
Yes! Absolutely! Upon approval we can book a Saturday time slot for you and your fellow musicians. We ask to please email us at sweetmusicstudiocafe@gmail.com. Please keep in mind that we are booked out several months and it may take us a little to get to your inquiry.
Do you pay musicians?
No, we unfortunately do not have the means or the ability to pay musicians. We are a small operating coffee shop and not a venue. Because of our ABC license as well as our music licensing agreements we are unable to charge cover charges and hire musicians. But! We offer our equipment, our space, as well as our instruments to musicians who would like to use the space.

We have Open Mic night every Thursday. Sign ups are in person at 6 pm. and we begin at 6:30 pm.
Jazz nights are on Fridays. We have Aidan’s Jazz Quartet ( aka., the house band) playing from 6-7 pm and a jam session right after. On Saturdays, local musicians/artists utilize the space to perform and showcase their hard work and talent.
Do you offer anything else besides live music?
Yes! We have Sweet Stitches on Tuesdays 10 am- 2 pm. Anybody can come in and use our space to work on their crafts/projects. We also have Spoken Word the first Wednesday of every month. Please RSVP if possible; we may cancel if lack of interest.
Do you offer wifi?
Yes! We offer wifi to our patrons.
Why don’t you have a phone number on the website?
Due to limited staffing we only offer communications via email.
Do you offer rehearsal space?
Because of cost and limited staffing we have postponed the use of the space for rehearsal.
Can I bring outside food and beverages?
We strongly discourage that. As a small establishment, we truly rely on the support of our guests to continue operating.
Do we have blended drinks and or fountain drinks?
No, we consider ourselves a specialty coffee shop therefore we base our menu on a traditional classic espresso menu and because of the limited space we do not offer these items.
I have art work and or i am a photographer. How can I showcase my work?
At this time, we are limited to wall space. Our artists are on a limited rational timeframe. We will use our social media platforms to update any available spaces.
